If you have been spending any of your time lately taking walks, gardening, or otherwise enjoying nature and fresh air, I probably don’t have to tell you that being among nature can be extremely therapeutic. 

Researchers at the University of Essex in the UK* sought to prove this by comparing a group of people who took walks in a country park (referred to as a “green walk”) with another group of people who took walks in an indoor shopping mall.  The researchers indeed found that the green walks were more likely than the indoor mall walks

Our weekly meditation group is back by popular demand! We have been hearing comments from clients that they would like to learn how to meditate or get back into a regular meditation practice.

The meditation will be held every Monday night from 7:30-8:30pm, starting November 2nd. We will practice silent sitting and walking meditation followed by a short group discussion each week.

A free meditation introduction/refresher will be offered the first Monday of every month.

My daughter seems to enjoy the idea of exercise.  She tells me how she will “get muscles” right after she is done doing any specific activity that she considers “exercise”.  I love that she is already interested in this.  Some days, she leads me in different exercise activities that include stretching, arm circles, twisting at the waist, racing around the house, and even meditation (she told me that she learned this from the television and I don’t remember watching this with her)…but it is great to partake in these meditation moments.   I always try to finish it off with some deep breathing.
