Free Your Energy With The Breath

We often are caught holding our breath in our society which creates tension throughout all of our body.  I encourage you to try this simple breathing technique to release tension and create a more supple system!

1. Start in a comfortable position.

2. Close your eyes and notice how you are feeling to begin.

3. Feel your body connecting to whatever it is that you are touching.

4. Begin by taking long slow breaths to calm and ground yourself from your daily life bringing your awareness to the present moment

      -You may want to start with an inhale of 4 counts, hold for 1 count, and exhale for 8 counts.

5. Now shift your breath. 

      -On the in-breath: purse your lips together as you are sucking through a straw 

      -Hold your breath for one count

      -On the out-breath: open your mouth to let out an audible "ahhh" sound.

6. Repeat #5 as you scan your body for any areas of held tension.

      -You may feel warmth, increased sensation in your body, and an overall sense of freedom.

7.Allow yourself time to stay and enjoy this free feeling in your body.
