Pomegranates: Health Benefits and Recipe

One of my favorite winter time fruits, the pomegranate, has many confirmed health benefits. Pomegranates are very rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and folic acid.

These antioxidants:

  • Keep bad LDL cholesterol from oxidizing.
  • Keep blood platelets from clumping together to form unwanted clots.
  • They aid in wound repair and act as an anti-inflammatory agent.
  • They help to slow the wrinkling of the skin.
  • Pomegranate juice appears to prevent the hardening of the arteries and may even help to reverse the progression of this disease.
  • Recent studies also suggest that pomegranate juice may prevent prostate and breast cancers.
