Stepping into the center is in itself a calming experience. The atmosphere is a respite form the bustle of Braddock Ave. Soft-spoken Sarah uses the mighty strength in her heart and hands to dissolve the kinks in my mind and body in a caring, logical way. I leave with a peaceful outlook and a healthier body.

Massage for Peace, Relaxation & Wellness
By Nikki
December 19th, 2009
When Founder, Nikki Remic, of the award winning spa, the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing took her first massage class at the age of 15 she only dreamed of where she would be with her career today.
"I grew up in the small conservative town of Delmont, Pennsylvania where during the 1990's massage was considered a taboo service. I was lectured by my guidance counselors and teachers to look more into physical therapy instead of massage therapy, but after my first Massage for Friends and Family class I was in love. The groundedness and peace that I felt from helping others just by listening with my hands instantly brought a deep sense of connection and purpose to my life. It was at this point that I learned about the importance of peace and relaxation that until this point in my life I had never experienced.
While my desire to share the relaxation and the pain relief that massage could provide was what I thought was leading me to the Pittsburgh School of Massage, it was my own experience of discovering a path to true "wellness" that massage and other touch therapy's brought to my life. Only 6 months prior to beginning massage school I had a near fatal experience that doctors predicted that I would never totally heal from. And little did they trust in any type of alternative treatment as having a benefit let alone the ability to transform a life. However, transformation and wellness is exactly what I found though to their surprise and skepticism starting with massage.
Since 1999 this ability to see the true power of healing that comes from adopting an appreciation for the sense of peace that can heal from within and trusting that the body will choose homeostasis if given the opportunity for wellness is what inspires me to share this true gift through the venue of the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing. For me it is not just about the relaxation, it is about the impact that each moment of inner peace can have on the lives of each person who steps through our doors."
