One of the most common things that we see at the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing is that, for many women, taking care of others is a primary concern in their lives.
Whether it is their own children and family, or friends, community groups, or even a stranger, these women are inclined put themselves last. When it comes to their health, this is often case as well.

There are many factors healthcare practitioners must consider when creating wellness programs for women. Here are some ideas that may be useful to those who guide Pittsburgh women toward better health:

Create a simple check list of healthy habits such as:
• Breathe deeply for relaxation and rejuvenation
• Sit down to eat, relax and enjoy it
• Take a look at what is important, let the small things go, and let the big things work out
• Watch what you’re eating and why you’re eating
• Get your exercise, walking with a friend outdoors does wonders
• Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables
• Eat complex carbohydrates
• Avoid refined foods and sugar

Consider a display of products geared towards women’s health:
• Nutrition (Calcium, Antioxidants, Probiotics, Digestive enzymes, B vitamins, Protein)
• Herbs for women’s health
• Hormone support
• Flower remedies
