Counseling & Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process of sharing one’s unique and meaningful story with a compassionate and thoughtful listener.  In her work, Leslie helps her clients put their thoughts and emotions into words, fostering increased self-awareness and understanding, and improved ability to communicate and relate to others.  Throughout this process, Leslie joins her clients in noticing patterns, and drawing connections between one’s past experiences and current issues.  Through this increased awareness, clients are empowered to more consciously shape their lives moving forward.

During the first few sessions, Leslie will be interested in getting to know you, your hopes and goals for therapy, and any problems or symptoms that you are experiencing. She will also gather some of the history leading up to your current situation, including some of your childhood experiences. Leslie will listen to what you have to say, share her thoughts with you, and ask you questions that may help you to more deeply explore and discover your feelings and needs, and the changes that you want to make in your life. She will work with you to identify, address, and resolve barriers that are making it difficult for you to achieve your goals.

Leslie’s style of psychotherapy is typically a long-term treatment, and sessions are 50 minutes long. Most people find that they have a lot they want to talk about early on, so they usually like to start off by meeting 1-2 times a week.

Leslie is a participating provider for a variety of health insurance plans. Talk with Leslie to find out whether her services can be either fully or partially reimbursed to you by your health plan.
