Leslie Stein-Aronson, MSW, LCSW
Leslie Stein-Aronson is a Licensed Clinical Social worker and psychotherapist. She has experience working with people of a variety of cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of issues. She enjoys working with adolescents, college students, adults, and senior adults, helping individuals cope with such issues as:
- Life transitions
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Stress and Anxiety
- Drug and alcohol addictions
- Trauma and abuse
- Interpersonal/relationship issues
- Loss and grief
- Other matters
In all of her work, Leslie brings compassion, warmth, thoughtfulness, respect, and dedication.
Leslie has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University. She has had additional training in the therapeutic models of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing.
In addition to her work at the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing, Leslie currently works for a psychiatry research study at UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, where she counsels and provides diagnostic assessments for adolescents and young adults who are struggling with depression and substance use disorders.
Leslie has several years of experience working in outpatient community mental health agencies both in Michigan and in Upstate New York. There, she has worked with adults with a number of serious disturbances, including severe trauma and deprivation, severe mood disorders, anxiety, schizophrenia, and chemical addictions.
In the past, Leslie has also worked on an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit of a hospital in Michigan, helping senior adults who were struggling with depression, physical illness, memory impairment, and life stage transitions. In addition, she helped their family members adjust to and cope with their loved ones’ illnesses or impairment, through family education, supportive counseling, and linkages to valuable resources in the community.
