What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?

Most of us don’t think at all about our lymphatic systems. But if you deal with sinus pain, swelling in your hands or feet, are recovering from a contusion or surgery or feel sluggish or bloated, you are experiencing the effects of a stagnant lymphatic system.

Your lymphatic system facilitates the removal of excess water, wastes, toxins and foreign substances from your body tissues. It is also responsible for identifying, containing and destroying disease-producing microorganisms in the body. It is made up of capillaries, vessels, lymph nodes, organs and bone marrow.

We offer two types of lymphatic massage, please specify when scheduling which session you are interested.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage incorporates slow, sedating massage that uses pumping and circular strokes, directed towards clusters of lymph nodes in the body, in order to refresh the lymphatic system. This type of massage is appropriate for:

  • Swelling associated with occupation
  • Pain relief
  • Fibromyagia
  • Headaches
  • Stimulating the immune and parasympathetic system
  • Sprain
  • Whiplash
  • Bruising
  • Post-surgical swelling
  • Arthritis.

Lymphatic Flow Massage

Lymphatic Flow Massage is a fast and invigorating sweeping of the body designed to uplift and energize. Using a combination of acupressure points, along with dry bushing and a castor oil pack, it works to help detoxify the body and combat low energy. Emotionally, Lymphatic Flow Massage increases feelings of space to feel joyful and lighter. The massage acts like a pump to push fluids through the lymphatic system.

  • Increase energy
  • Inducing feelings of joy
  • Boosts immunity
  • Relieves fluid accumulation

*Both lymphatic massages are not indicated for individuals who have:

Lymphatic Drainage has made an enormous difference in the problems with blockage near my ankles on both legs.  The large and sore red spots that were there before are gradually going away, and Kate has been a Godsend for me (and I'm sure for others).  I'm so glad I found your center. S.R.
