Beth Celender has always been interested in having a career in which she could comfort others, help restore the mind and body, and have a productive and peaceful interaction with others. During her pursuit for an ideal career match, Beth moved to Boone, North Carolina where she studied social work, psychology, and education. Beth’s love for a more relaxed lifestyle came from the calm and rejuvenation that she found during her four years in Boone where she found herself feeling a great sense of peace from her time spent outdoors. After noticing the changes in herself from being in such an environment, Beth was even more eager to find a life long way to share this with others.

After moving back to Pittsburgh, Beth learned first-hand about the impacts of massage therapy. She realized through her touch that she could assist others in feeling more comfortable in their bodies, aid in physical pain relief, and balance the body, mind, and spirit. Massage therapy was the perfect opportunity to support and help others in their journey to living a better quality of life. Beth attended the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy where she studied courses under the Medical Massage and Spa programs leaving her with diverse tools to successfully work with a wide range of clients. Her passion for this career has led her to learn many different modalities such as Therapeutic massage, Reflexology, Neuromuscular massage, Hot Stone massage, and also Pregnancy massage.

Reflexology hit a strong note for Beth during her studies at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. She became inspired by the healing effects that come from focusing on the feet. Beth found that Reflexology addresses the feet thoroughly by relieving physical discomfort and improving circulation. It can also have a stress reducing and healing influence on the whole body and mind.

Her interest in Hot stone therapy roots from her appreciation of the way nature offers calm to a busy mind. Utilizing both the hot stones and her bare hands for massage, Beth has found that the combination of warm oils, stones, water, and aromatherapy allow this therapy to be extremely beneficial for chronic muscular tension and also emotional stress by quieting the mind with a deep sense of grounding.

Pregnancy massage was important in Beth’s training because it gave her the ability to assist in the wellbeing of her clients during such special, yet tiring and difficult time. Beth has a daughter and knows personally the changes a woman’s body can go through during a pregnancy, both positive and negative.

As a massage therapist, Beth’s synergistic blend of strong hands, caring heart, and down-to-earth personality offers each individual she works with a form of balanced and detailed work. Based on a prior discussion relating to your individual needs, Beth customizes each session to accomplish your health goals. She will adapt a session by using a selection of techniques ranging from Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, and trigger point therapy. Following the session she may have suggestions for self-care so that the client can continue their healing at home.

Away from work, Beth loves to spend quality time with her friends and family... especially her daughter. They share their time painting and being creative, reading old and new children’s books, and like to take a lot of walks no matter what the weather has in store.
