Here are a few more interesting home remedies from Chile. Most of these are more common, and not quite as strange as the last list. ; )
Joint Pain- Cut an entire aloe leaf in half lengthwise and place directly over joint. (You can find aloe vera leaves at the Market District Giant Eagle in Shadyside.)
Hair Loss- Drink aloe vera juice and use it with shampoo to wash hair. (Aloe vera juice can be found at the East End Food Co-op or Whole Foods Market.)
Bruising- To avoid bruising, cover affected area with butter right after injury for two hours.
Common Cold- To get over your cold a little quicker mix the following:
1 Pilsner beer
Juice of ½ lemon
1 pinch of salt
Enjoy!
Fever/Headache- This remedy works well for either. Slice a potato into coins. Place slices all around eyes and on forehead. Repeat as needed.
Appendicitis- To avoid appendicitis, drink fresh carrot juice or eat boiled carrot greens. Carrot greens can be prepared like spinach.
Clotting- When dealing with a cut or wound that is bleeding and not clotting properly, find a spider web and place on wound. This will help it to clot and scab faster.
