Well, we at the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing know that people are choosing a holistic approach to medicine more and more in part due to rising health costs. We are always hearing feedback from our clients about how important a holistic approach is to their life, and now there has been a survey which shows an increase in the use of popular CAM therapies such as Massage Therapy, Yoga, Meditation... A recent article posted by the American Massage Therapy Association states, "About 38 percent of adults in the United States use some form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapy, according to a new nationwide government survey released in December 2008. And while the overall use of CAM therapies has remained steady over the past five years, use of massage therapy has increased more than 65 percent."
