The days are warmer, the days are brighter, and you are busy planning your summer trips, and activities. Summer is supposed to be relaxing. The kids are out of school, you also might have the summer off, a long over due vacation is coming up. Right?

Well, if you’re like me, you might begin to look at your calendar and  realize that the relaxing summer is quickly filling up with obligations and events: children in the summer camps, play dates, weekend get away to see friends and family, lists of to do’s around the house, graduation parties, family reunions, etc…. And you think to yourself “this calendar is supposed to be RELAXING?”  Well, I did.

Realizing that my summer schedule may have quickly slipped out of balance, I have decided to take time for me this summer. I’m going to give myself permission to relax and take care of me. That’s right, I am going to pencil in my relaxation and down time into the calendar. If it’s on the calendar I will actually do it.

If your like me, and you see your summer is filling up. Stop and give yourself the time and space to relax. It's time to focus on you. And it is important to take care of YOU. Forget about all the lists– take a break and do something for you.  Go for a long walk, journal at night, schedule a massage or energy session.  Remember just because its summer doesn’t mean everyday needs to be jammed packed.
