The chill of winter is right around the corner.  The stresses of holiday shopping are also beginning right now. Every day that I am at work I think about the warmth and comfort of the environment that I am a part of and I am thankful.  If there is something that you need right now for comfort or for tension reduction...I find that a hot stone massage is a wonderful option for aiding in this. The hot stone massage includes the use of my hands for massage along with stone massage.  Not only are the stones used for massage, but they are used as heated stone compresses.  The hot stones are placed under the hands, under your sacrum, on the stomach (my personal favorite:)  and under the shoulders.  Applying hot stones to certain areas of the body melts tight muscles, and soothes the client into a gentle relaxation, preparing him or her for a deep release.  When the client turns over to recieve massage on the back of the body, the spine is lined with hot stones also.  It is a double massage...only with heat, stones, and essential oils.  The warmth that surrounds you speeds up the absorption of essential oils making the session even more beneficial and therapeutic.  The feet are massaged with a hot and thick castor oil and then warm stones are placed inbetween each toe. The feet are then individually wrapped in heated towels as well. This session is a dream.
