Call us

Friday evening the massage therapy spaces at the Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing were transformed into an Art Gallery for the show "Within and Without" by Douglas Nelson.  We had more people than expected join us for the opening, and it was wonderful!  The center was filled with laughter, hope, inspiration.  It seemed that all who purchased art had a deep connection with the piece that they chose.  My belief is that the art is not just beautiful, I insist is alive with enegy!   Those who attended left thoughts on what some of the art should be titled, and here are a few things...An ache of the soul, Pulse of light, Ripples of consciousness, Bursting forth, Opening the heart, Finding her voice, Bliss, Embodiment... there is much more, but I don't want to spoil our poetry surprise. Douglas Nelsons' artwork will be at the center for all to enjoy through the middle of July.  I hope that you are able to stop in and see the work in the common area, or receive a theraputic massage, cellular expansion and healing or reiki session with this "live" art in the room.  The therapists here all agree that it is adding an extra special spirit to the sessions!  Here is a link to Douglas Nelson's artwork, http://mysite.verizon.net/douglasnelson/index.html "I want to be whole and free and I do that by tuning into my hearts desire. There’s so much wisdom and energy in emotion that it is the ideal medium for spiritual exploration. All I do with paint and paper is an attempt to open to the overwhelming flood of emotion that I swim in. In this expanded place there is a point when emotions are no longer emotion, they are motion, color and energy. There’s no form or content. There’s no story, there’s only the energetic signature of an experience. It’s my experience of living in a body and of the larger consciousness in which we are all immersed. That’s why it’s so familiar. We’ve all been there before. There’s no judgment, no good and bad just higher flow and a brief glimpse of the divine within." Douglas Nelson
