A cold and refreshing seasonal beverage inspired by a couple delicious things growing in abundance in the garden right now:
Strawberry Basil Lemonade
10-14 Fresh Strawberries
2 cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice
3/4 cup Agave syrup (or to taste)
A small handful of fresh basil leaves
Stem the strawberries and slice them into quarters. Place 1/3 cup aside as garnish.
Puree the strawberries along with the agave, 1c lemon juice and a few finely diced basil leaves. Puree well- its no fun to suck hunks of berry through a straw! In a pitcher stir together the strawberry mix, water and 2nd cup of lemon juice. Toss in the remaining slices of strawberries, a few whole basil leaves and a couple handfuls of ice and Enjoy!
